Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation (NAGPRA)

The Native American artifacts Display Room
is currently Closed.

As of January 2024, the Friends has taken steps to implement updated Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation (NAGPRA) regulations, which means not displaying cultural objects without prior written consent.  While no requests for repatriation have been made, there are items in the permanent building collection that need review. With generous help from our Indigenous Friends we have completed a review of the items in the Barney Daley Collection. The items in this exhibit, are back on public display. Visit our website for further details and updates as to when the remaining exhibits will reopen.

We apologize for any inconvenience!
