Closing Day Celebrations! Free Admission to Nowashe Village!
Closing Day Celebrations! Free Admission to Nowashe Village! Join Education Director Liz Glaviano in Nowashe Village as she demonstrates a live dugout canoe burning. The methodology employed – using clay and natural tools — are the same techniques the Northeast’s Native Peoples used to create their dugout canoes for thousands of years. Please note, this is not a hands-on participatory event but rather, a demonstration.
This week’s craft table will feature beading a canoe pendant bracelet or necklace.
This week’s Artifact Display case will highlight both the Madison and Levanna Projectile Points of the Woodland Period discovered in the South Windsor Meadows.
