Native Games
Native Games: Have you ever wondered what Indigenous Peoples did for fun? Many of today’s modern sports, such as soccer and Lacrosse, have their roots in Indigenous Culture. Native games not only provided children and youths with hours of fun, but more importantly, with the opportunity to develop much-needed skills necessary for survival, such as accuracy, agility and stamina. Game highlights this week include: hoop & stick, line tag, bone & toggle, make the stick jump and lacrosse. Come learn about the many games we play today that have their origin in Native American Culture. All are welcome and encouraged to play these hands-on activities.
