A Day in the Life

What were the everyday activities that Native American men, women and children performed?  How are they different than today?

First, embark upon a Primitive Stone Age tool-making journey.  Master two main survival skills, cutting and tying, using only natural materials, and a third, drilling holes.  These lessons are a must-see for students and survivalists alike!  Then, learn about traditional hunting techniques and methods of food preservation.  Lastly, hear from a Narragansett Wampum expert on the deeper meanings behind this beautiful Natural Resource and its importance in Native adornment and society.

The Friends of Wood Memorial Library & Museum recently created professionally edited virtual field trips for schools based on Nowashe Village.  Join Executive Director Carolyn Venne on a virual learning expedition three facets of everyday Native American life.  Professionally edited video content will be shared and you will take part in interactive discussions.
