A Place Called Home
How do we know what we know about Native Americans? How did their lives change over time? What influence did the changing environment around them have on their eating habits, clothing and tool creation? In the first part of this program, we’ll examine our state’s rich past and you’ll learn how Native Peoples lived during the Paleo, Archaic and Woodland periods.
Later, additional questions are explored: Where did Native Peoples choose to settle their villages, and why? How were Native dwellings built, and what raw materials were used to construct them?
The Friends of Wood Memorial Library & Museum recently created professionally edited virtual field trips for schools based on Nowashe Village. Join Executive Director Carolyn Venne on a virual learning expedition into the past. Professionally edited video content will be shared and you will take part in ineractive discussions, examine timelines, maps and Native American Place-Names.
